2010 A.G.C. NEWSLETTER | LADIES LEAGUE NEWSLETTER

2010 represents a milestone for the AGC. Fifty years ago the farmland which is now the AGC was transformed into one ofthe area's first nine hole golf courses. Remnants of that farm are still evident at the course including the silo which was transformed into the cooler in the clubhouse. However, the course has also undergone many changes over the years with the addition of the second nine holes in 1982 and the new club house in 1991. With this exciting time we are planning on celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the AGC on Saturday July 10th with a grand reopening - so save the date. If anyone has any old pictures or memorabilia from the original nine we would love to display and share with the rest ofthe golfing community.

Notes from the superintendent:
Welcome to the 2010 golf season. I hope you are all as I am.

Overall, 2009 provided us with great weather except for October. Although I guess if could pick a month for poor weather it would be October.

I want to thank you for your continued support of the A.G.C. in these tough economic times. As I stated in last year's letter we will continue to try to provide you with the best conditions possible while we all weather this storm.

We were able to accomplish various projects on the course in 2009. These included bridge redecking, cart paths additions, new asphalt, tree trimming and removal (which will continue this year), new 150 yard markers along with many other needed updates and improvements.

We will continue to move ahead this year with projects, improvements, flowers (which are 2nd to none), and our day to day course maintenance as the economy and weather will allow. If you have any questions or ideas about something we are doing, please don't hesitate to ask us about it. The Board, along with Paul and I, are constantly trying to make decisions that are in the best financial and recreational interest of yours and the golf courses. We will strive to maintain the quality that we have always taken pride in providing.

Thanks to all who are using sand and seed bottles to fill divots on the course. We still have some available and would be happy to install one on your private cart. Just contact me this spring to make arrangements. Thanks also to Terry and our entire stafffor all oftheir hard work.

Let's make it a great 2010!

See you when the grass turns green.

Tom
